Second Coming.
Bad Translator. It has been 2 months since we first released our funny online tool called: “Bad Translator”. Today, right after the long Memorial Day weekend, we’ve decided to bring a bit more attention to it by mentioning it here at our blog again. Also, we’ve built a brand new Facebook fan page where we are going to collect all funny mistranslations our Bad Translator accumulates over the course of its lifetime.
Here are the links again:
Bad Translator! Tool: http://www.conveythis.com/translation.php
Facebook Fan Page: http://www.facebook.com/BadTranslator
The interesting thing we have found out is that our Facebook Fan Page was long time due. In fact, we were totally oblivious how fun and popular our tool was among masses, that impatient users began to make their own Fan pages devoted to this very translator. Some fan pages amassed as many as 105 fans already! We couldn’t tolerate that blasphemy, so, today we are putting an end to it. Join our group and help us growing to the next level! Bad Translator – this is really bad!

Today marks the beginning of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, a 12-day festival featuring films from all over the world, from high-budget blockbusters to more experimental indie flicks.
The New York Times reported that at this year’s festival, more documentaries, and almost-documentaries, are being screened, showing an increasingly blurred line between fact and fiction. The most talked-about movie is “My Trip to Al Qaeda,” which is based on a 2007 play called “The Looming Tower,” combines history with personal narration to create a dramatized true story which gives the audience, as the Times puts it, “little jolts” of insight into the 9/11 tragedy, and into the world as we know it today. With regards to foreign films, over 38 countries will be represented at the festival. Among the highlights include Germany’s Fatih Akin, who is debuting his farce Soul Kitchen, about real estate and restaurants in Hamburg. From France, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the director of Amelie, will be showing his new film Micmacs, a trailer for which can be seen below: Micmacs
