Equatorial Guinea Flag Description:
Three equal horizontal bands of green (top), white, and red with a blue isosceles triangle based on the hoist side and the coat of arms centered in the white band; the coat of arms has six yellow six-pointed stars (representing the mainland and five offshore islands) above a gray shield bearing a silk-cotton tree and below which is a scroll with the motto UNIDAD, PAZ, JUSTICIA (Unity, Peace, Justice).
Equatorial Guinea Flag Information:
Horizontal tricolor of green over white over red, with blue triangle at the hoist, and the coat of arms in the white stripe. The arms are gray with silk cotton tree. Above are six yellow sixpoited stars representing mainland and islands. Under shield is a motto: UNIDAD - PAZ - JUSTICIA. The flag was addopted 12-OCT-1968, when the state gained the independance. During the dictatorship of Francisco Nguema (1972-79) the emblem in flag was changed, but the original 1968 flag is restored since.
