Translation Services USA translates and certifies personal and official documents for $24.95 per page, a page being up to 250 words, in more than 120 languages. Every order includes a signed certificate of accuracy that meets the USCIS requirement in 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), delivered as a PDF within 24 hours for most documents of one to three pages, and covered by our USCIS acceptance guarantee. What USCIS requires from a translation
The rule for every immigration filing is in the federal regulations, 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3):
“Any document containing foreign language submitted to USCIS shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.”
Three practical consequences: the translation must be complete, including stamps and notes; it must carry a signed certification of accuracy and competence; and it does not need to be notarized. You cannot certify a translation of your own documents for your own filing.

When you need more
Notarized translation and apostille
Some offices want more than a certification. Foreign consulates, some courts, DMVs and schools ask for a notarized translation: the notary public in our office notarizes the translator's signature the same day. The notary confirms who signed; the notary does not check the translation itself.
Documents going abroad often need an apostille, the certificate under the Hague Convention that makes a US document valid in another member country. We arrange the apostille together with the translation.

What is a certified translation?
A certified translation is a complete translation of a document together with a signed statement, the certificate of accuracy, in which the translator or translation company confirms that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent in both languages. In the United States no government license is needed to certify a translation; what makes it certified is that signed statement.
Are your certified translations accepted by USCIS?
Yes. Our certificate of accuracy contains exactly what USCIS asks for under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3): a statement that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate from the foreign language into English. It is covered by our USCIS acceptance guarantee. Courts, universities, state agencies and most consulates accept the same certification.
How much does a certified translation cost?
Certified translation costs $24.95 per page, and a page is up to 250 words. Most birth, marriage and death certificates are one page, so they cost $24.95. The certificate of accuracy and the PDF are included. Notarization is $25 per document, same-day rush is $14.95 per page extra, and hard copies by mail start at $15. How long does a certified translation take?
Most documents of one to three pages are delivered within 24 hours as a PDF by email. Same-day rush is available for most languages. Longer documents get a firm delivery date with the quote.
Does a certified translation for USCIS need to be notarized?
No. USCIS asks for the translator's signed certification, not a notary seal. Some courts, foreign consulates, DMVs and schools do ask for a notarized translation; we can notarize it for $25 per document, the same day, because a notary public works in our New York office.
What counts as one page?
One page is up to 250 words of the source document. A standard one-sided certificate, such as a birth or marriage certificate, is billed as one page even when stamps and seals take up space. Longer documents are counted by words, and you see the count before paying.
Do I need to send the original document?
No. A clear scan or a phone photo of every page, including the back if it has stamps or writing, is enough. You keep your originals.
Can I order if I am not in New York?
Yes. Most clients order online from across the United States and abroad. You upload the document, we send the certified PDF by email, and hard copies can be mailed anywhere. Our office at 55 Broadway in Lower Manhattan is open by appointment if you prefer to come in.
What is the difference between a certified, a notarized and a sworn translation?
A certified translation carries the translator's signed statement of accuracy; that is what USCIS and most US institutions need. A notarized translation adds a notary public's seal confirming who signed that statement; the notary does not check the translation. A sworn translation is made by a translator sworn before a court in countries such as Spain, France or Brazil; for documents going to those countries we can arrange it together with an apostille.
What happens if my translation is not accepted?
If USCIS rejects a translation because of our translation or its certification, we correct and re-certify it free of charge. If it still cannot be used, we refund the translation fee.
